It's actually strange going home nowadays. Not only because of going back to the family dynamics of living, but also going back to a relaxed way of life. I've personally had it very easy, if not extremely spoiled, all my life, so Ringling was a big change. However going back now, I feel almost uneasy just sitting on my couch and watching tv. For the better however, I'm much better at doing chores, even doing that without being asked, I know, a big shocker. As different as it is now, being home eventually starts to feel perfect again, and I never want to give it up.
Difference.

I feel I'm very different than everyone around me. Sometimes I feel like a lot of people have certain masks they put on for socializing with certain groups, if not specific people. It's almost painful watching people literally switch right in front of my eyes, as they talk to different people. I feel, or at least hope that I have a little more consistency in the way I act. I try to be honest and happy constantly, because that's how I feel.

Invulnerability is a foolish quest, because to strive for it is to also strive for lonliness. If ever you've adapted yourself to not be affected by pain, you've also sacrificed pleasure. And it's some of that pain that eventually GIVES us pleasure, in some form or another, it's just all in the way you look at things. And if were to be able to not recognize and understand pain, we would not be able to be there and help out our loved ones when they were going through some as well.

Courage isn't not being scared, it's just not letting the other guy know you're scared. As a little secret, I'm still scared about college to this day, and always have been.
Last bit of inspiration, is this;

What. A. Song.
Third section of this whole 'inspiration' thing, although similar to the last, is much more deeply rooted in giving me drive.

The 2008 Speed Racer movie, my by-far-and-away favorite movie of all time. Oh how it looks in blu-ray.
Next bit of inspiration moves a little faster.

Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3, specifically the recently released addition of the Pagani Zonda R. What a vehicle.
It being Spring Break and all, my first bit of inspiration is obvious.

That's right, the gosh dang beach.

Late update but what the heck..

Okay okay, New Years took a toll on us all, but this was a little ridiculous. Anyhoo, time for an update. All of these are from the end of last year, so more to come soon from this year as well.

First off, EXAGGERATED version of the whale guy, still being silly

Next up, this is a Lip-sync of myself, which later on is gonna happen in 33333-DDDDDD AW YEAH.

Last offff is the last painting of the year, this time of a bubble-fisherman!!! I doubt anythings going to come out of this, but was still fun to mess with. :D

3 projects due=a tired Porter

Good morning everybody :)

So much going on the past few weeks, but at last, something to show for it! :D

Let's doooo Concept first, with my "One Minute Animatic," about a boy and his father.

After that is a 'Dramatique/Drama' digital painting for Drawing For Animators. The possible story behind this is an ice cowboy and polar bear are stuck on an ice chunk and have to play patty-cake to see who gets to dive in and grab some fish for food. Yeah. What.

Lastttt and certainly not least, is the first of two PUSH/PULL assignments, animated in glorious 3d where our character has to... well yeah. I've grown to love this Whale so gosh darn much. :)

I really need to make this whole blog look more appealing.. but that'll come when i have the time. :P

So in weeks to come, we essentially do the same thing again (another push/pull, exaggerated this time, another painting, and a lip-sync animatic). Wish me luck!

LipSync/Caricature and a witness!

This felt like it took forever, and also feels like I could spend forever more making it look better, but here it is, a final version/rendition of a caricature....of myself.

In other news, another animatic got finished up; "The Witness"!

Computer Animation! Part 1

The main event I guess you could say. This'll have our first 3 animations, all with a supplied character already modeled and rigged, our only job was to animate it!

The Walk Cycle, tried to go with something different.

Pose to pose; Silly -> Haughty -> Aggravated

Waiting; There's totally not a trend going on here.

And soon to come shall be a preview of my Killer Whale character!

Concept Development: Part 1

This is going to be the first two animatics done thus far.

First off, "The Door," which is character vs. door, WHO WILL WIN?!

And a couple weeks after that, we had the "A2b," getting from one place to another, BUT HOW!?
Felt there was quite a bit of improvement from the first, yes? No?

*'Raindrops' by Chopin is accredited to, well, Chopin of course.

DFA: Part 1

Let's start this show off with a little 'Drawing for Animators,' which includes;

-Whole ton of scribbles
-Some refined scribbles
-SHADED scribbles!

First up;

Next, some scribbles on scribbles;

And even after, shaded scribbles!

Scribbles on walls!
Characters on walls!
Shaded walls? No, I mean characters.

Refined scribble, he'll make another appearance later. :D

First!!!11!

Well, well seems I finally got a blog, seeing as it's 'smart' and 'professional' to do. That and nowadays it feels weird to post my art strictly on Facebook or Deviantart. Anyways, I'm going to start uploading this semesters artwork.
